More on Victor Noir:

Some say the first thing you see when you look at someone are their eyes. With Victor, it’s his burnished ‘manhood’. There’s no getting around it. Approaching along a solemn parade of pillar bone boxes in Pere Lachaise, you might glimpse green from the path. What’s this, you may think, and approach, quickly realising what lies before you: The bronze-cast mold of a sprawled dandy with a shiny boner. You may get the urge to touch it. Why? Is it because thousands of people have clearly done the same? Furtive gestures repeated over decades, each helping to keep the polish on this bold golden brown protuberance clear of oxide. Bien encadré.

If you can tear yourself away from it for just a moment, you might notice his equally buffed lips and nose and think to yourself, hello, there’s been a little bit more than a fondle here. You’re probably right. Our hero has come a long way from his death, the result of an escalated dispute over a newspaper column, skipping through the bardo to emerge as an anti-imperialist symbol before going mainstream as the modern day fertility god lying before you, green serene and straining at his slacks. And if you look even closer, fumbling at his lapel, you might spot the wound. A remnant of the bullet that pierced his chest and triggered the strange series of events leading to that windy winter solstice.

We’re talking about the 21st December 2018 of course, at Cafe Oto in London, where a bedraggled band of Noir cultists assembled their orgones to deliver Victor’s message of universal experience and rebirth, providing a soundtrack to the priapic prince’s voyage beyond the realm of knowledge.
